Mogador vs Taihou Figure: Which Azur Lane Pre-Order Is for You

Quick Answer

Choose the Mogador figure if you favor GOOD SMILE arts SHANGHAI craftsmanship and a longer wait; pick the Taihou Nightpool figure if you prefer LUMINOUS BOX's dynamic design and an earlier dispatch.

Design Philosophy and Character Appeal

The Mogador figure from Azur Lane features a whimsical Olfactory Nursery Call Ver. design, capturing the character in a playful garden theme with detailed botanical accents. This creative concept appeals to collectors who enjoy thematic storytelling in their figures.

Taihou's Nightpool figure emphasizes elegance and mystery, with a dark aquatic motif that contrasts elegantly with her usual bright attire. The figure highlights Taihou's regal side, making it a standout piece for fans of the character's alternate portrayals.

Manufacturer and Quality Reputation

Mogador is produced by GOOD SMILE arts SHANGHAI, a branch of the renowned Good Smile Company.

Taihou is manufactured by LUMINOUS BOX, a studio known for creative poses and detailed base designs. Each brand has its own quality standards—GOOD SMILE is often praised for consistent finishing, while LUMINOUS BOX tends to push the boundaries of sculpt and color contrast.

Pre-Order Window and Dispatch Timing

Mogador's pre-order closes on September 9, 2026, with dispatch expected in October 2027—a roughly 13-month wait from close to shipment. Taihou's pre-order closes on June 10, 2026, and ships in May 2027, giving an 11-month wait.

If you prefer to receive your figure sooner, Taihou is the practical choice. If you are comfortable waiting longer for a high-detail piece, Mogador's extended timeline is acceptable.

Price and Value

Mogador is priced at USD 103.94 (catalog comparison USD 164.99), while Taihou costs USD 112.34 (catalog comparison USD 160.49). Both figures offer notable savings compared to their reference prices, with Mogador having a larger percentage discount.

Taihou's slightly higher price reflects the additional sculpting and paint required for her night-themed base and dynamic pose. Mogador's lower price point makes it more accessible, though the savings should be weighed against the longer wait.

Limited Availability and Non-Refundable Policy

Both figures are limited pre-order items. Once payment is completed, cancellations are generally not accepted—except for damaged, defective, or incorrect items. Before ordering, verify that you are committed to the design and timeline.

The limited nature adds urgency: after their respective close dates, these figures may become unavailable or resold at higher aftermarket prices.
